My sixth week of joining in with Living Arrows hosted by Donna at What The Redhead Said. Every Monday, me and other fellow bloggers share a moment from our week and pictures of our children; ideally one of each of our children.
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
It’s so funny how things can change so much in a matter of days. The week before this, the boys and my husband were at home with a horrible flu, and last week they were all better and we had an awesome weekend. On Saturday we were invited to a 2 year old birthday party where they had activities and lots of music for children. Nathan loved it. He loves music and singing, and is definitely not shy to show it and be in the centre of everyone’s attention. Josh also liked it, but he is really attached to me and doesn’t quite like all the attention. Although he played with the other kids for a bit, he kept coming back to us and at some point, he was just wandering around by himself.
On Sunday we all went to a friend’s wedding and because there were many children there too, I was glad the boys also had company and lots of fun. Nathan wanted to play with the older boys. He is only 3 and the others were 4-5 years older than him but he amused me when he told me ‘Mummy, I want to play with the big boys, like me’.
I was also taken by surprise when they were all in the hallway, and all of a sudden, Nathan was facing them and started to lead them into singing nursery songs. They sang ‘If you’re happy and you know it’ and then Nathan chose ‘Head Shoulders Knees and Toes’ and the children played along. I couldn’t stop laughing; I didn’t see him like this before. He is very outgoing and sociable, etc., but he was just a toddler making all the other older children listen to him and do what he says. At the beginning, I was scared that Nathan might be bullied or perhaps they wouldn’t want to play with him because these things happen all the time; so to see this happen, I realised that Nathan is probably going to do so well in school.
I have been married for four years and God gave me the most precious gifts: Nathan and Josh. We also have Sasha, our gorgeous German Shepherd, and we love travelling, food, sleeping (although this one is hardly possible because my children don’t appreciate the benefits of sleep).
