Living Arrows 5/52
My fifth week of joining in with Living Arrows hosted by Donna at What The Redhead Said. Every Monday, me and other fellow bloggers share a moment from our week and pictures of our children; ideally one of each of our children.
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Last week was both a horrible, long and tiring week, because both boys and my husband caught a flu so I had to look after all three of them. Husband didn’t go to work for the whole week and barely ate anything in the first 4 days; boys had a high fever throughout all nights; coughing and runny nose; and the list goes on. It was so exhausting and at some point, I was going out of my mind too for being stuck in the house for 5 days with three sick people to look after. But it was also an amazing one because we got snow – and lots of it too. The boys were so happy.
We went to the shop and bought a sledge right away because we never had one before, and one would know why. We barely get any snow in the UK. After we bought a blue sledge (we had to obey to Nathan’s requirements and blue is his favourite colour) we went to the park and played for half an hour.
We then wanted to build a huge snowman but the boys were just too cold and Nathan started crying asking to go home. We had enough fun in that 30 minutes anyway. We all love the snow; but just don’t like the freezing weather that doesn’t let you spend too much time outside. I don’t understand how people that go skiing can manage more than 1h outside in the cold; especially if they have children with them too.
I remember when I was little, we had snow every winter back home. You would find us outside every day, having snow fights with other children, building snowmen, riding on the sledge, and I remember my feet and hands would be frozen at some point but we would still continue playing. Snow brings back so many good memories!
