If you feel like dropping out of university, you are not alone!

Let’s admit it: we all had moments like these when we thought that university is just so hard and time consuming that it’s not worth the effort. I probably thought about this more times than you did. I had to take care of my little growing family and try my best to get good grades at university at the same time, so imagine how hard that was.

I struggled a lot of times and I’m that kind of person that always stresses about every assignment thinking “OMG, how am I going to do this? What am I going to write about? I don’t know what to do, I am so lost :(!” But then I start it because there’s no other way around it, you just have to do it and then I keep writing and writing … and going over it 100 times until it’s finally finished. After I finish an assignment I always question myself if I did it right and if I did what the assignment has asked to do and if the lecturer will understand anything and I just go on and on stressing, but I think this is good stress at least.
If you like the course that you are studying and you really want to work in the industry that you’ve chosen, don’t give up. It will be hard and it will take a lot of motivation and time, but it will be worth it. Time goes by so fast, and even though 3 years seems like a long time, it will fly by trust me. I still can’t believe I’ve finished 2 years and I only have one more left.
Have the best essays, read a lot and do whatever it takes to get the best grades. If you’re going to waste 3 years of your life, waste them wisely otherwise do something else! Do something that you like, something that is worth your time.
At the end of this journey, you will be one step ahead of other people. Businesses are looking for degrees all the time and why not let it be you the one that gets an amazing job? Even better, why not be your own boss with the knowledge that you have gained and the experience from volunteering, internships or any work that you did along your studies?
I know studying is not fun when you’re young and when there’s so many other things going on. I know that young adults like to have a lot of fun and party all they can, but this is your future. It’s worth investing in your future and in YOU! If I did it with one baby, you can do it as well! Giving up on university is not a decision that can be taken overnight, but never feel like a failure if you have decided that university is not your path. You know yourself better than anyone else and great things can be done no matter what path you’re choosing!

  • Good on you! You can do it, and when you do, the sacrifices will soo be worth it! I decided to go back and finish my degree part time while working fulltime, and let me tell you, I now know what I am made of. There were tears, tantrums, and god only knows how my partner stayed with me, but we made it!

    • We’re so lucky to have supportive partners as well. Sometimes it’s because of him that I’m still going to be honest, because I felt like giving up a lot of times, but he would not let me quit and I’m so grateful for that. Good luck wherever life takes you and be proud of everything that you achieve :)!
