Audley End Miniature Railway
Two weeks ago we had the chance to visit Audley End Miniature Railway and it was a fun family day out. We’ve never been there before and the boys were quite excited to go and see the fairies and elves and also enjoy the train ride.
There are lots of activities for the children and we spent 3-4h there.
There is a craft area where they could’ve made their own Fairy or Elf doll but the boys are still small and didn’t quite have the patience to make one; but they loved to make their own Elf wand in order to tick all the fairies and elves that they found in the forest.
There’s drinks and food that you can buy there, but there’s also a picnic area if you choose to bring food from home. I was just too lazy to pack food, and the food there was nice.
The forest with the handmade wooden tree houses was beautiful. At times I felt like I was really in a magical forest and not an ordinary one.
The boys loved the ride with the train. They spotted lots of teddies on the way and we went under a tunnel which was really fun. We then arrived at the Fairies and the Elves and they played a song and danced for us. At the end, they gave the boys a little gift.
As well as the Fairies and Elves, there will be other events throughout the year as well, like Fathers Day, Summer Festival, etc. I just wish it was a bit closer to us and we would’ve gone there more often. It is 1h away from us which is a bit far.
