Pampering Yourself In The Bathroom

Are you feeling a bit stressed right now? Maybe you’ve just realised you haven’t had time to wash your hair in about 3 days? Either way, you’re in great need of using the bathroom, and spending as much time as you can in there!

Your bathroom is probably one of the main nerve centres of your house, especially if you’ve got a family to take care of. And because of that, you hurry in and out of your bathroom, brush your teeth in record time, and you don’t really bother using that mirror to check if your hair looks nice. So now’s the time to change the habit a little, and get much more out of your bathroom – if you’re in need of a bit of a spa day, here’s some tips on setting one up.

Have The Softest Amenities Ready for You

When you’ve got an hour or so to yourself, make sure you’re putting the time to good use every once in a while for a bit of self care. Or you could spend it shopping for the best bathroom amenities, such as soap that’s soft and smelly on your skin, or a flannel that doesn’t make you feel like you’re ripping your skin off when you use it! The more gentle the better, seeing as skin can be very sensitive!

You’re also going to want to get a good bathroom mat that feels like heaven to step out onto after a hard day of work – not to mention you could slip on the floor without one. And if you’ve recently bought some hotel quality bath robes from Richard Haworth, well, the more’s the better!

Make Sure There’s a Lock

If you’ve got a large family on your hands or if you have kids under the age of 7-8, you probably don’t use the lock on your bathroom door very much. You want to be ready to spring into action at any moment, in case of emergency, and you don’t want your kids accidentally locking themselves in when you’ve stepped out for a moment whilst bathing them.

But when it comes to having some ‘me time’, and making sure the bathroom is pampering you properly, you’re going to want to install one and use it liberally to make sure your relaxing bath with candles and roses isn’t interrupted. Let your partner take the kids on for an hour, and let yourself soak and drain off for a bit. You’ll feel and act a lot better once you’re out of the bathroom!

Setting up a spa day for yourself takes a little bit of time, but the payoff is completely worth it. If you love the idea of being able to recline in water that’s very healthy for your skin, make sure you’re booking that time in with yourself when you know you’ve got some time free. The productivity can wait until another day when you’re feeling refreshed, your health can’t!

I always add milk and flowers, or bath bombs in the water just to make me feel even better and feel like a princess for 30 minutes.
